This week we spread kindness by writing kind words on post-its and posting them around the school. We also made cookies for the Riverview Teachers. Thank you Mom's and Dad's for helping with supplies and a special thank you to Mrs. Keller for helping with the baking fun! Our last school day of 2016 consisted of an author celebration and a few fun STEM projects (we worked together to build the tallest tree possible, using green cups.) I hope you all have a Merry Christmas and wonderful break.

This week was filled with compliments, paper hugs and real hugs. We also made cards for children who will spend their Christmas at the Children's Hospital. Unfortunately I only snapped one picture this week. More to come next week! Enjoy the snow and have a great weekend!

Congratulations to Lydia, Carson and Claire for earning respect awards this month!
Parents, thank you for your help in making our food drive successful! The items we brought in will be taken to the food pantry on Tuesday.
The Kindness Elf gave us the task of cleaning our playground on Friday. As you can tell from the picture, we were excited about this task!

Yesterday an elf appeared in our classroom! He left us a note saying that he needs our help in spreading kindness this holiday season. His name is the Kindness Elf and he will be giving us a random act of kindness to complete each day. He has asked for your help with the first task! He’s asking that we think of others who may not be able to put food on the table for their families. He has asked that we donate non-perishable food items that will be taken to the food pantry. Please try to get these items to me by tomorrow, December 2nd. I hope you will consider participating. If you have any questions please let me know. Ask your child and watch for blog updates about our daily encounters with the Kindness Elf!
